Aloo Posto

Aloo Posto-One of my most favourite Bengali dish and I am sure it is all time favourite for any bengali. Usually, my mom used to make it for lunch and I loved having it with hot steamed rice and mushur dal(red lentil dal). I miss this being away from home and the craving of it made me experiment it in my kitchen. And lucky it came out to be nice(not as tasty as my mom's but decent enough). So let me share my experiment with you guys so that you can try this all time favourite bangali dish at your kitchen.

So what do you need for that:
1. Posto or Poppy seeds
2. Aloo or Potatoes
3. Onions
4. Green Chilly
5.Termeric
6. Salt to taste
7. Oil

To begin with, dry roast the Posto till it becomes light brown in a pan. Roasting will make the seeds softer so that it can be easily made into a paste in a grinder.

After the posto is roasted, put them into a grinder along with onions and grind it into a smooth paste.
Now heat oil in a wok and when oil is hot, add a split chilly into it.

Now add the chopped potatoes and fry it for some time. Then add termaric and salt to taste and continue frying for some time.

Now add the posto-onion paste to the frying potatoes and mix it well.

Keep on frying till the potatoes become tender.

When the oil starts seperating, off the gas and transfer the dish in a bowl. Your Aloo Posto ready enjoy it with hot steamed rice.

Please do try it at home and let me know how was it.

Happy Cooking!!!
